DICOM FAQ
-
I directly moved/copied some DICOM
images into a location under the DICOM Manager directory. When I
then pressed the update button, my images were not listed in the
browser.
-
Which kinds of DICOM files
(objects) can MEDx read/open?
-
When I pressed the
Retrieve button, this error message appeared: "Retrieve server
failed to initialize the network." What does this mean and
how can I resolve this?
-
I opened some DICOM data
into MEDx, and proceeded to examine the DICOM header by bringing
up the Image Header Info window. However, I cannot seem to locate
the DICOM header in the window. Or is it not available? What do
I need to do?
-
Can MEDx open DICOM
images that are not conformant to the DICOM standard in some ways?
-
I see that in the MxOpenImageAsDicom
command the three arguments in the middle are optional, but why
are they inside one set of brackets [] together and not inside their
separate sets of brackets? Can you describe the intended usage better?
-
In the Open Image dialog box,
I selected and opened multiple DICOM files. This created a Group
containing several icons, one for each file. By opening these files
as distinct items of a Group, MEDx seems to have ignored the actual
relationships between the images which I believe is more complex
in the case of this data set. What can I do to open these images
more appropriately, or simply in a different way?
-
I am interested to use some
DICOM tools so that I may quickly, and by convenient manual (visual)
inspection, determine from tool results what kinds of DICOM images
these are, which of the images are related to which others, etc.
Are there such DICOM tools in MEDx?
-
I found out that some of my
DICOM images are not "DICOM Part 10" images. Can MEDx
open these kinds of DICOM images?
-
There was a separate DICOM
Send dialog box in MEDx in versions through 3.4.1. This dialog box
appears to have been removed. Is this correct? What happened? This
dialog box was helpful to me because it enabled me to specify a
directory to send. How can I specify a directory to send?
-
I noticed in MEDx 3.4.2
that there is now a command called MxDICOMSend. What happened
to the MxSendStudyDICOM command? Which one should I be using
starting with 3.4.2?
-
I tried to open some DICOM
data and got an error message saying that the path "is a directory".
I have two inquiries on this issue. Firstly, this error message
is confusing because I have seen it not strictly when I am opening
a directory but also when I am opening a single file or a set of
files. Secondly, I am not sure why the error message is complaining
about a DICOM path being "a directory". After all, the
User's Guide makes it clear I can always open a DICOM path that
"is a directory".
-
In one of the volumes I created
when I opened some DICOM data, Image Properties of the volume indicates
that the z size is 0. I am quite certain the z size is not 0 in
this data set. Why is it shown as 0 in MEDx?
-
I opened a dataset by
using the DICOM Manager, but got a wide pop-up error text with many
braces {}. How can I open this dataset?
-
Can MEDx preserve the DICOM
header information of my images into new DICOM images I am creating
with MEDx?
