Reporting a Problem in MEDx

The optimum method of reporting a Problem with MEDx is to use the on-line "Problem Report" found in the Main Window File menu.
  • From the MEDx main window select "File"

  • Select "Problem Report"

  • A window will pop up with text fields to fill out

  • After filling out the fields, select the "Send" button

  • The Problem Report will automatically be forwarded to the appropriate parties.

  • A confirmation note will be delivered to you with a Problem Report reference number assigned.

If the user is unable to use the problem reporting feature under MEDx, a standalone version of the "Problem Report" program is available.

  • From the directory $PXHOME/bin enter the command 

    addnote -gui

  • Assuming the environment variable PXHOME is set correctly, typing addnote will present the user with the same "Problem Report" form as using "File/Problem Report" from the MEDx main window. 

    Note: It is essential that the PXHOME environment variable be set, as addnote determines mail adresses and other site specific information from an addnote configuration file in the $PXHOME/bin directory.
